Cyro Zuzi is a Brazilian born percussionist and drummer, who started his musical career more than 20 years ago in Sao Paulo, in 2000 studied music in Havana. In the same year he took first place in a prestigious drumming contest in Sao Paulo: O Concurso de Bateristas do Vale do Paraiba.
In 2007, Cyro moved to London, and started gigging and recording with a variety of artists. He has performed all over the world and the UK, at venues such as Ronnie Scotts and the Jazz Cafe and festivals such as Glastonbury and The Secret Garden Party. Cyro has performed samba on the BBC TV's 8 out of 10 Cats and ITV's Loose Women!
On the educational side, Cyro has a degree in Education in Brazil , he also develops a research about the Afro-Brazilian diaspora in collaboration with the UNESP university (São Paulo) through the study group - Caiu na rede é samba.
Cyro is currently doing a post degree in Percussion/Ethnomusicology at Santa Marcelina university in São Paulo (Brazil).
